Why Outdoor Education?

Outdoor education is a powerful tool that fosters personal development, resilience and leadership skills among youth. Away from the traditional classroom setting, students engage with nature, build strong relationships and learn to face challenges head-on. These experiences are crucial for their emotional and social growth, helping them to become more confident and compassionate.

Thanks to supporters like you, every CBOBS experience is fully or partially subsidized. Your gift allows students across the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas to experience transformative growth through one-day teambuilding experiences and multi-day learning expeditions.

Your support can help in many different ways - including the following:

• $100 helps cover the cost of sending a student on our one-day programs - highly recommended by 92% of participating teachers
• A contribution of $250 helps us provide basic clothing and outdoors gear - rain jackets, backpacks, and hiking shoes, to all participants
• A gift of $500 allows us to offer students unique challenges and unlock deeper potential for growth on a series of ropes courses and outdoor elements
• An investment of $1,000 funds scholarships which allow students from all backgrounds to learn and grow on a week-long outdoor expedition
