Education can open the way to a very different future for a student in need in Eastern Europe. For young adults growing up in poverty, finishing high school doesn't always mean the next opportunity is waiting.

College, university, or vocational training may be within reach academically, but completely out of reach financially, as families struggle to meet basic needs on a daily basis

When kids are forced to end their educational dreams due to financial constraints, the consequences can extend far beyond a missed degree or qualification.

Young adults with limited education and few employment opportunities can find themselves with very few choices. They may face unstable or poorly paid work, pressure to leave their families and communities in search of employment, or greater vulnerability to people offering opportunities that aren't what they seem.

In the countries where Mission Without Borders works, poverty and a lack of genuine employment opportunities can leave people vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation. False job offers can be used to target those  who are simply searching for a way to support themselves and provide for their families.

Education doesn't eliminate every risk. But it can open more doors.

This year we are striving to fund 40 scholarships to support students so they can continue their education and create a brighter future for themselves and their families.
