Jesus still walks forgotten roads to invite people to follow Him.
You may have felt that invitation yourself: at work, when you long for more than a paycheck; at your dinner table, when you imagine what your family could become; or when you’ve seen real need and wished you could make a difference that lasts.
It Starts with One Yes
One recent morning in Kenya, Moses woke up in a storm of concerns: for his family, for what his friends were facing, and for how he would respond in the middle of it all. On the couch in his living room, the Lord’s Presence met him. First came peace, then hope, then creative ideas for the day ahead. Saved by Jesus long ago, Moses still needs mornings like this: to be filled, and then sent.
Moments later, Moses was walking through one of Nairobi’s largest slums. Red dust rose with every step as he headed for the home of a young woman named Kimberly. He knocked on the rusting tin sheet that serves as her door and waited, listening for what God was already doing. Kimberly told the team about her week, and it was clear she needed help. So they did the one thing they knew to do. They called on Jesus together, right there in her doorway, and saw Him heal her.
A Doorway Leads to a Household of Faith
But a doorway is only the beginning. Moses didn’t learn to follow Jesus alone. People walked with him until he could walk with others. Kimberly needs the same thing. Too many people meet Jesus in a moment like that and then have no one to walk with them, and without a household of faith, a doorway moment can fade.
Every Saturday morning, from Kenya to Lebanon to Costa Rica, our teams love whole neighborhoods (tutoring, mentoring, knowing people by name), whether or not anyone comes to faith. Inside that love, the Holy Spirit is at work: this year, hundreds gave their lives to Jesus. As we prayed about what comes next, we sensed the Lord saying, "Don’t send them looking for a building. Help them become the church right where they live.”
So microchurches are forming: small households of faith, about 8–15 people, meeting in a home in their own neighborhood to read Scripture, pray, care for one another, and invite their neighbors. Each is led by a local leader that our team trains and coaches, and each is built to stay, grow, and change a neighborhood.
Your Invitation
God has given us a goal: 100 microchurches in 2027, each one leading others into His love. When you give what God has put in your hands, you join Jesus in landing a punch that matters.
Moses said yes on his couch, and again at Kimberly’s door. Now, Kimberly has a household of faith waiting to walk with her in her own community. Maybe you’ve thought your life is too ordinary to change something like that. It isn’t. You and Moses aren’t so different: both of you are planted by the Lord, filled by His Presence, and sent. You don’t have to cross the world. You already have what you need, right where you are.
Each month you’ll hear the stories, and you’ll know a household of faith in Nairobi, Beirut, San José, and beyond exists in part because you said yes.
This year, we are raising $250,000 to form 100 churches across the world's largest slums by December 31, 2026.
Will you give and help the microchurches grow?
A year-end gift helps a new household of faith take root. Every gift by December 31 counts toward the goal.
